Sometimes
I put my hand to my face
And there are tears I didn’t expect
Rising up like springs
And spilling over into my palm.
Sometimes
I put my hand to my face
And there is a drought
Where I expected showers
Of rain.
I know
There is nothing I can do
That changes anything
And you will always be
One step away
On the other side of the page.
Good night and I love you and I love you.
